I have myself been the victim of pickpocket by a young Romanian girl who posed as if she is playing or adjusting with somekind of a long thread needing to spread both her arms to distract the attention. Fortunately my main valet they could not take but did manage to steal my small valet containing 100 euros and some metro tickets at the Printemps metro.
Someone saw as she got off but in the confusion its too late to get down to follow. I did try but in vain.
The worst and most unimaginable in this case is that they are making it an organised activity so much unknown for a country like France like bribing the guards/Police etc to keep away. This is a reflection of decadence in a country like France if not checked now would become a menace for France and its tourism. Wake up!!!!!
These Romanian groups are fairly active in Italy also particularly in Torino where they move in groups menacing the tourists. Its time strict controls are undertaken and severe action initiated to dissuade the practices.
